Its that time again, time to plant bulbs, the years seem fly by as I get older, anyway, planting Daffodils, tulips, crocus, grape hyacinths and fritillarias bulbs from now until December or the first frost, will fill your garden with colour next spring.
Bulbs for the Herbaceous border
Bulbs like, daffodils, winter aconites, tulips and fritillarias planted in your herbaceous border will fill gaps and provide colour and interest before the perennials and shrubs begin to grow in early spring.
Also groups of early-flowering tulips will add interest and colour to the borders you intend planting with annuals in the summer.
Bulbs for planting around trees.
Scillas, anemones, erythroniums and crocuses bulbs will do well in the light moist soil found under trees.

Dwarf daffodils, crocuses, snowdrops and winter aconites look great in lawns, let them die back before the first mow. Aftercare is almost minimal, probably the most important thing is to allow the bulbs to die back before mowing. Some of the less hardy bulbs might need lifting in the winter so check the label. Bulbs planted in containers may need extra care by watering in dry weather and protecting from frost in the winter.
