A lot cheaper than premixes, 12 ml per litre is all that's required for something like a sprayer. And 60ml in five litres will kill 100s of sq metres. Weeds start to die back in 1-2 weeks.

Gallup Home&Garden is a domestic weed killer that contains 360 g/l glyphosate for effective control of annual and deep-rooted perennial garden weeds, including grasses, docks, nettles, willow herb, dandelion and bindweed. Kills most weeds in one application with no need to re-apply. A single 2 Litre bottle treats up to 3332 sq/m

If you are killing and clearing a large area of Bramble, Ivy, Bindweed, Japanese Knotweed, Horsetail and Dandelion or weeds keep shooting up from under you neighbours fence. I would advise using concentrated glyphosate, rather than the sprays. I do a lot of weed clearance and this works out a lot cheaper than using the RoundUp type weed killers . You will get excellent results on all broad leaf weeds by just following the advice on the label. However. I do increase the dosage to 50ml to 1 litre of water for bramble growth.

Check Strength actually is minimum 360g/l when buying concentrated Glyphosate weed-killer from other sources.

F.A.Q about glyphosate weed-killer

  • What is the dilution rate? Dilution Rate: is 20ml per 1 litre water. You might want to increase the dilution rate for weeds like Bramble. Read my tips on the relevant pages linked below.
  • Will it kill grass? Yes takes about two weeks. When, laying a new lawn it is a good idea to kill all grass and weeds before rotavating it.
  • I'm clearing an area of weeds so that I can sow lawn seed. How long do I need to wait between applying glyphosate and sowing the grass seed? Glyphosate is deactivated on contact with soil. It only works by absorption through the green part of plants. Realistically it is better to wait until the weeds are dead. As it may be necessary to retreat some of the more persistent weeds. It is much better to wait and clear the weeds fully, then have to deal with them as the new grass is growing.
  • Does it kill Mares tail? Yes and Japanese knotweed, basically it kills all weeds.
  • I have a conifer hedge and ivy is rapidly invading it. How would I apply it? Very carefully it will kill the conifer, cut through the ivy stem and treat the root only.
  • Will it stain a block paved drive or patio paving? No.
  • How long does it take to kill the weeds? The weeds may take slightly longer to show signs of dying off than when you use contact type weed-killers that only kill the upper parts of the weed which come into contact with it. However, these types of weed killers are not nearly as effective as glyphosate at completely killing the weeds. In many instances, weeds treated with a contact weed killer will regrow as the root has not been killed.
Glyphosate (360g/l) will kill weeds completely.

How to apply Glyphosate
